Within the REHAP project, RINA Consulting is leader of WP6, which concerns the sustainability, energy and techno-economical evaluation of the REHAP processes and products. Specifically, within this WP, RINA Consulting will evaluate the environmental, economic and social impacts of REHAP biobased processes through Life Cycle Assessment (E-LCA), Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LLCA) and Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA). Results from these assessments will be further used as starting point to evaluate the environmental, economic and social impacts of the developed biobased building panel, which will be compared to conventional non-renewable building panel available on the market and with similar performance. According to the results, a business plan will be redacted to foster the market penetration of the developed building solution.

Moreover, to ensure the cost competitiveness of the developed processes and products, a market analysis and a techno-economic evaluation will be performed with respect to fossil-based alternatives and other market-available biobased alternative.

Sustainability of the REHAP processes will be evaluated through an adaptable multi-criteria approach which will take into account the most relevant dimensions of processes, such as raw materials, energy and water consumption, waste management, production efficiency, environmental sustainability, etc. This methodology will be used to identify resource efficiency measures in order to increase the process sustainability.

Finally in WP7 RINA Consulting, through its linked third party RINA Services (which is one of the 10 European accredited Verification Bodies), will identify the measures and guidelines towards the future standardization of REHAP technologies and products.
